Paisley College is one of our most exciting projects to date. A difficult undertaking, the brief was to transform Speirsfield House, a Grade B listed, 144 year old stone building, to a state-of-the-art student accommodation building and college campus. The beauty of the original building is immediately apparent, preserving this was of obvious importance but the challenge remained to rejuvenate the interior of the college, while adhering to strict listed building protection legislation, and to provide modern accommodation for students. The solution was to extend the newer wing built in the 1980’s, using a timber framed construction to form a multi-storey dormitory block, providing a range of spacious, fully supplied rooms. The challenges involved in seeking planning permissions for these works we feel were well worth the results we hope to achieve. As construction is due to get underway in early summer 2018 we expect that there will be further challenges, as is to be expected by a building of this age, however we are excited by the project and can’t wait to see the building on sign-off. We hope you’ll keep track with us on social media and on this page!
